Kotb, 59, gave her fans an update on Gifford\u2019s whereabouts and recent activities on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kotb premiered Gifford\u2019s new song \u201c3 Little Words\u201d on the \u201cFaves and Finds\u201d segment. Her former cohost was the subject of her next update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust wanted to mention that Kat is absolutely thriving right now. She\u2019s in Nashville, writing music and living her dream life,\u201d Kotb exclaimed. \u201cKat, I love you because she\u2019s making music and playing with the cutest grandkids.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until 2008 that Gifford and Kotb took over Today\u2019s fourth hour. After Gifford\u2019s tenure ended in April 2019, her frequent replacement, Jenna Bush Hager, took over. She said she felt she had to step down from her role as Today host after her spouse passed away in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The realisation that time is running out hit me when my husband went away. During an appearance on The Tonight Show at the time, Gifford informed Jimmy Fallon that he was unaware that he was running out of time that morning. \u201cAnd then my mother went away, too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I never imagined I\u2019d be in this place, but I just recently did. The realization that I am a widow, an orphan, and an empty nester hit me like a ton of bricks.
