These logs are also cut in the winder which helps to reduce cracking. The logs are then hand peeled and treated with fungicide and then stored up on the skids to use in the springtime. That means these log homes and cabins won’t have any chinking, but they are round notched and have double scribed lateral grooves. Once a log home is built at the company’s yard, it’s then taken apart and numbered as it’s dismantled. They load them up on semi trucks and then transport them to the customer’s building site where the home can then be reassembled in about 5 days.

The log builders also return once the logs have dried out completely to do all of the finishing work. They also recommend general contractors or subcontractors such as plumbers, roofers, electricians and more to finish everything up for the customer so they can move into their new lovely log home.
